SLOWLY BEING BURNED
This sun chair was part of a larger installation at Odderøya consisting of 12 sun chairs recreated in different ways by invited artists. The concept was initiated by artist Anna Berthelsen in the event of Odderøya Open. (more photos of installation to come)
The sun chair “Slowly being burned” has its idea from the act of sun bading and the danger of being burned if you spend too much time in the sun. It has had its textile enforced by spackling paste before the surface of the wooden frame is burned and hundreds of candles are mounted and lit; melting, dripping and pouring wax out over the surface.
Denne solstolen var del av en installasjon på toppen av Odderøya bestående av 12 solstoler i en sirkel som var bearbeidet på ulike måter av inviterte kunstnere. Konseptet ble initiert av kunstner Anna Berthelsen i forbindelse med arrangementet Odderøya Open (flere fotos av installasjon kommer)
Solstolen “Slowly being burned” henter idéen fra stolens funksjon og faren for at du kan bli brent dersom du bruker for mye tid i sola. Den har fått tekstilen forsterket med betong før trerammene er brent på overflaten og hundrevis av stearinlys er montert, tent på og så har smeltet, dryppet og rent utover overflaten.
